The Counseling Network, Inc. (TCN) also known as Christian Counseling Network is a marketplace ministry, founded by Joshua D. Kurth, established in response to his Call to Ministry and business (Acts 2:17-18, Ephesians 4:11-13). This is a unique marketplace ministry where professional faith-based services include; Christian Counseling, Academic and Educational Consultation, Psychological and Temperament Evaluations alongside practical ministry services like Clergy Consultation and Spiritual Overseeing, Foreign Missions, and Christian Education.
The ministry was commissioned by God (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, 2 Corinthians 2:17) and officially established in the year 2004 as an independent, ecumenical, Christian ministry. TCN is a Missouri chartered, non-profit, non-denominational, multi-cultural organization. The organization was established for charitable, religious and educational purposes. This is the place where our founder’s ministry, spiritual gifts, passion, vocation and life purpose converges in a God inspired vision, for advancing the Kingdom of God through ministry in the marketplace.
Now with operations in both the St. Louis and Kansas City Metropolitan Areas, and through the organizations unique synergy of faith-based, cultural and generational sensitive services; TCN looks to minister to people all around the world.
Our founder, Joshua Kurth, is an Ordained Minister of the Gospel and is also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), in the state of Missouri. Our strongest, first, and foremost commitment is to the Biblically ordained equipping ministry of the church. Secondly, we are committed to fostering and supporting the community through our outreach to the marketplaces of the world where people live, work, are institutionalized and where they conduct business and ministry. TCN is an advocate for faith-based environmental stewardship, risk management and disaster preparedness (cf. Psalm 24:1, Job 11:18, Proverbs 22:3). The ministry is supported by private grants, donations, contributions for service, gifts of resources and the work of our volunteers.
Although TCN is an organization with much educational training, advanced professional skills as well as practical business and ministry experience, our ministry deeply depends upon the Holy Spirit as our guide and the Bible as the final authority for all of our services. It is only through the counsel and teaching of the Holy Spirit, our spiritual gifts and the practical application of the Word of God that we offer these services as we seek to honor God in all we do.
As declared in Romans 1:16, we affirm that we are “not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. . .”
